The Issues with Vanilla Items
We felt that the original game's items were underwhelming. For example, the stat difference between level 80 and 90 gear was often just a single main stat, making upgrades feel unrewarding, especially with added stat requirements. On top of that, the best-in-slot shoes, capes, and gloves were low-level items, which made higher-level equipment pointless. Finally, the Maple weapons, which had no stat requirements, encouraged players to go secondary stat-less and use the same weapon throughout the entire early and mid-game, leading to a lack of variety and progression.
The Changes to the Item System
To address these issues, we've made significant changes to items, some were also as a buff or nerf to the class. Let's list them all:
General Changes
Chaos scroll can only add weapon attack between -2 and +2 for equips level 0-70, between -3 and +3 for levels 71-100 and normally (-5 and +5) for 101+
Removed secondary stats requirement on clothes, and decreased it on weapons
Lowered the NPC sell price by 2x for all equips
Maple Weapons are now 'Event Only' which makes them rare to come by
Buffed stats of all job specific equips (except weapons) to make them worth the upgrade
Added more color options to Pirate gear for variety and different stat options
Dragon equips (lvl 110) can now be leveled up to gain some extra stats
Reverse items are for level 150 and tradeable
The stats gained from Reverse items level up were slightly increased
Buffed the stats of Timeless equips and changed their level requirement to 160
Hats:
Scarlion and Targa hats' stats were lowered to 7 main stat and 5 on the rest, as these bosses were changed to be level 80.
Added Level 25 Black bamboo hat with +3 int
Increased Bone Helm's speed and jump
Goblin cap stats were buffed to +5 all stats
Time Traveler's Circlet buffed to +8 all stats
Lord pirate's hats buffed to +4/5/6/8 all stats
Accessories:
Added Chryse Savior Medal
Mark of Naricain stats increased to +8 from +5 and attack/m.attack decreased from 10/10 to 1/8
Bow Tie (Green, Yellow, Blue, Pink, Red and Black) stats increased
Emerald Earrings stats increased
Added Ellin Forest Guardian Medal
Added hp & mp to dojo belts
Smiling, Angry, Crying and Sad masks are not one of a kind
Altaire and Glittering Altaire earrings from Ellin PQ were buffed
Maple Leaf face accessory can be put in storage
Deputy star is now for level 70 (from 50) has +7 all stats from +5 and increased HP and MP
Buffed Crystal Leaf earrings to +4 magic attack from 3
Capes:
Reduced Crimsonheart Cloak's slots from 8 to 5
Timeless Cape now has 8 slots
Buffed the stats of Red Musketeer Cape (high speed and jump)
Buffed the stats of Ludibrium Cape (high weapon attack, no slots)
Goldensoul Cape now has +10 Magic attack
Goblin Cape buff to +3 all stats
Icarus Cape (1, 2, 3) merged to one cape with +10 speed, +5 jump
Ragged Blue/Green&Black Capes were added (reskins of Old Raggedy Cape) with +2 str/dex/int and the original cape now has +2 luk
Cape of warmness changed to +1 all stats, +1 weapon attack and +2 magic attack and slots decreased to 0
Purple gaia cape buffed to increase int by two
Taru Spirit Cape can be worn by all classes
Shroud of Zakum cape buffed to +6 all stats
Gloves:
All gloves lvl 60 and higher now have atleast 6 slots
Glitter gloves int increased from +2 to +10
Overalls:
Blue and Red Sauna robes now provide +2 all stats and +10 speed
Pants:
Stirgeman pants/skirts were buffed to increase all stats, speed and jump
Rings:
Aura ring was changed to be uniquely equipped, cost more nx and raise 4 all stats
Added Xerxes ring (+4 all stats, +350hp,100mp, 1 weapon attack and 6 magic attack, no slots)
Added Sand Ring (+3 all stats and +100 hp,mp, no slots)
Added Ephenia's Ring (+250hp,mp, 2 weapon attack and 8 magic attack, no slots)
Shields:
Added Rhodonite Shield (Wearable by magicians), lvl 60, +4 int and +2 luk
Added Ametrine Shield (Wearable by magicians), lvl 80, +5 int and +2 luk
Added Shale Shield (Wearable by magicians), lvl 100, +6 int and +3 luk
Added Magnetite Shield (Wearable by magicians), lvl 120, +8 int and +4 luk
Buffed stats of Nimble Wristguard (Thief) to +2 dex +4 luk from +1 str, level 40 from 22
Buffed stats of Jurgen Wristguard (Thief) to +3 dex +6 luk from +1 dex, level 60 from 22
Increased the stats of all warrior shields
Shoes:
Red/Blue/Green/Black/Purple/Violet and Yellow snowshoes' slots decreased from 7 to 5
Silver Strap Shoes' slots decreased from 7 to 5
Violet snowshoes increase speed by 10 from 5
Level 110 shoes have 6 slots from 5
Weapons:
Black Mamba and Casters (lvl 80, 90 claws) dex stat changed to luk
Dragon, Reverse and Timeless staves and wands received elemental damage boosts for all elements
Dragon Faltizan's, Reverse & Timeless Alchupiz's attack speed increased from 7 -> 6
Elemental Wands (70) luk requirement 0 -> 68
Dragon Chelbird's, Eviscerator's, Reverse Diesra's and Timeless Diesra's attack speed increased from 8/9 -> 6
Timeless Nibleheim's attack speed increased from 6 -> 5
Goblin Bat +5 int changed to +5 str
Redner changed to level 100, increased attack speed 6 -> 5 and weapon attack 97 -> 102; a dex requirement of 100 was added
Stormshear's (spear) attack speed was increased attack speed 7 -> 6
Buffed and/ or added stat requirement to frantic strige, hula hoop, duck tube, duck tube, bushido, liu bei dagger, fan, diamond dagger, hinomaru fan, sun quan staff, daiwa sword, guan yu polearm, bow of magical destruction, xarusuma, shinobi bracer, seraphim knuckler, seraphim gun
